About
My work is at the intersections of journalism, technology, and community engagement, and I'm still finding my perfect place in the middle of their Venn diagram (likely, that place probably doesn't exist yet). Someday, I also dream of folding things like economics, statistics, and linguistics into my work.
I'm based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I lived in Baltimore, Maryland, for a year and grew up in the Twin Cities, Minnesota. Since I finished my undergraduate education in journalism and economics at Temple University, I've worked in and with large and small startup nonprofit newsrooms. Before going to college, I worked in conductive education, home health care, technical theatre, and an auto shop. I frequently find parallels between these prior roles and my current ones, and someday, I'll write more about that.
Currently, I'm interested in learning about statistical software (R, Stata), civic technology, community convening strategies, information equity, agile for small and non-technical teams, non-generative AI applications, impact measurement and assessment, sustainable economic development, and media economics.
Outside of work and work-related things, I like to travel and bike a lot.
